Stay MEP [Beauty and the Beast] [FINISHED]

Hi girls ! ^w^ I'm authorized by Vee to host this MEP in her stead due to the death of her computer *weep*. And also I totally begged and plead her if I could host this since I am so excited about getting this started!

So the song that won the voting here is 'Stay' by Hurts, suggested by Michelle.
And there was already a sign-up topic for the participants of this MEP, created by Neriede here. So due to that fact only the following members will be joining this MEP; (bolded usernames have signed up)

As to those not on this list and wants to join, I think we could gather a back-up editors list IN CASE of emergency. :D So if you're interested, please let me know and I'll be sure to ask you if one or more of the members above can't edit their part. ^___^

So! As this is a MEP with one single footage, we agreed to edit it one part at a time. So first the editor who wants part 1 finishes her part and then uploads it here, the person next in line downloads it and then edits her part and so on. The deadline Vee suggested for the parts was three weeks and I think we can all agree on that?

Let's move onto the parts then! I made a video with the parts and the lyrics, to fasten up the choosing (so people like me don't have to look at the song timeline and the lyrics xD this seems more fun and easier) and it is uploaded to our YouTube channel, and the link for that is HERE;

ALSO! ABOUT THE MOVIE DOWNLOAD, I AM NOW DOWNLOADING A BLURAY RIP AND I HOPE IT WORKS. I will keep you posted! It's an .mkv file so you'll have to convert it but I will deal with that once I know if it works or not! So don't start your parts before we have the same movie version! ^___^

I HAVE IT I HAVE IT! Bluray rip, and it's so shiny I could cry!! >w< Now there's only two problems.
One is the filesize (and this might be a problem to some), the movie is 4,35GB in .mkv and once I convert it, it'll be even bigger. So sending it will be quite bothersome. I'll convert it today at home and update the eventual filesize. Now it's also important that the movie is converted with the same program, since some converters kill quality... So after converting I'll have to think of a working way to upload it for you.

ZOMG soooo looking forward to having the blu-ray rip, sounds amazing! Oh what do use to convert the file? I've been looking for an mkv file converter for agges. And file size is no problem for me

Oh and megaupload is probably your best bet for uploading the file, they allow you to upload any file size I think, it might just take awhile for it to upload Other then that you could make a torrent of it but I don't how many people use those who are involved in the mep...

Also, just to add onto what Miranda said, you are allowed to download files of any size to Megaupload. HOWEVER, you must be a premium paying member in order to download the really BIG files. I ran into this problem when I tried to find a good copy of a movie for another friend of mine.

It might be a bit of a hassle, but I think the most sure fire way to get this file to everyone is to each download the .mkv version from the source Sawnah found it from, download the same converter, and convert it ourselves. If anyone can think of a better way though, I'm sure no one would complain.

If we do end up doing that though, I suggest Any Video Converter. It's free, caters to a lot of file types, has the added bonus of being able to snag videos off Youtube, and for the most part converts without quality loss.

Also I love the work you put into this Sanna, and a BLURAY VERSION OF B&TB ZOMG. Total freakout over here, that's the one movie I have in the worst crappy quality ever. Can't wait to start girls! xx

I use Xilisoft Ultimate Video Converter 6 (I think that was the full name), you need to download and then crack it so that it converts the whole file but it's worth the trouble because it is AHMAZING. It converts any filetype to any filetype, you can choose all sorts of different options and it doesn't hurt the quality at. all. It's perfect. >w< Get it!

And is MegaUpload really any filesize? Hm. Didn't know that. xD But I will try that once I can, I'll get the movie converted today and hopefully uploaded for you amazing people!
EDIT: Ah shiz, really Neriede? So I can upload it but you guys can't download it? Does any of us HAVE a Premium account which the rest of us could take advantage of? My boyfriend did say there might be ways to crack one of those to use, so... I'll check.

-> Boyfriend helped so I know how to create torrents. This might be the easiest way, everyone download uTorrent and I'll post the torrent when I can. xD

Also, as I said, the converter I use is a dream come true but it is a pain in the ass to crack (at least was for me). But if I can't think of any other way, I'll create a topic with the right download links and the crack guide for you all and let's just hope we all can manage it. xD And I must insist that if we all convert the movie separately, we have to use this converter, because there's just no way around the quality and the wonderful options it has to offer. xD

Welllllll, if we're going the torrent route, the easiest method I'm seeing is for Sawnah to convert it, and then for her to torrent the converted copy. That way we know FOR SURE that everyone has the same converted quality copy. If that's alright with Sawnah, that is.

I will however be looking into Xilisoft at any rate, because it sounds super awesome.

the thing is, i offer the movie converted to avi format from blueRay disk (not by me) + the torrent file of it.
there's no point in doing the job, that already done.
but if you aren't satisfied with its quality, then ok, looking forward to see sanna'a one <3

It may be that it's YouTube but the movie just doesn't seem all that HD to me. No offense, Kate. But I'm such a quality whore that since I found the bluray .mkv rip and already converted, torrented and uploaded it with no problems (and it stayed shiny through all that), I'd prefer if we used that. However, post the torrent link to the bluray rips and I'll download it. We'll use your copy if it doesn't work out with the torrent I posted. :)

A thought just struck me the other day:

If we want the quality to stay the same throughout the entire MEP, does this mean everyone will need to use the same render settings?

If so, can we decide on those settings right now, before the parts start getting done?

If not, then sorry, you can just ignore me.

Oh, and I have another question about my part: would it be ok if I will put some text on it? I was thinking about put some text... nothing too heavy, just little, semi-transparent texts, but if you think it would be better to not do it, just tell me!

Coincidentally, I just posted a test on youtube to see what it looked like, and it looked fine with the Rendering just using the 'Default Template' setting with project Properties Template at HDV 720-30p (1280x720, 29.970 fps)
It still gives the option to view the video in HD and there's really no point in saving a larger file if it looks exactly the same in a smaller one.

So now the ones missing the movie are Vee, Kate and Anne, right? Isa got it, so part 1 is in the making, deadline is 11th of August. If she finishes earlier, I'll start mine and so on. Yay for progress!
