Well, hopefully you guys won't think it's totally stupid, but I was thinking about the MEP host order, and the whole "One crossover, one canon" situation, and I was wondering...

Would it be possible to up the number of allowed projects from 2 to 4?

My reasoning is that the way it is now doesn't give the hosts much choice on what type of project they host. I mean, what if an editor REALLY wanted to do one type, but once it was their turn the other current host was already doing that type? Then they'd either have to default to the other type, or wait for another whole revolution around the list, which would take awhile. We can still have a rule in place that says no more than two of each type, but I just thought it might be a little more fair this way.

Plus, four projects might help increase activity in the group itself, so....yeah.

I kind of agree with you, because it will keep the activity of the group up, and what you said about 'one crossover, one canon'. However, when you host a max. of 4 MP's at a time, don't you think it gets a little confusing with so many projects at the same time? That could just be me, but.. I don't know XD

You have a point though that four might make things a little confusing, but I think we could manage.

And hey, we could try it, and if did turn out to be too confusing, we could just go back to a max of two. :3

Or we can just take off the "one crossover, one canon" rule and the host can choose to create whatever MEP she wants.

Tho the activity and the MEP flow will most likely increase if we move from 2 to 4.

I really however want to keep the 1canon, 1crossover rule - even if it changed to 2 I'd want to keep that.

I think it's something we really need to give thought too, and as for the "what if people didn't want to do the type of MEP open when they hosted?" rather than going all the way round again I was thinking if someone doesn't want to do the sort of MEP open; then they could just have the next slot open for the type they do want to do - and the type they don't wanna host would pass to the next person who would. Thats what I've always thought was intended. ;D <3

But I see the positives of this idea. :3 One other problem I am seeing though is with 4 MEP's we'd each have to have at least 2 parts to have them all filled, and I know it doesn't seem like a lot but it kinda isss.... and I DONT THINK IM MAKING ANY SENSE. XD

I like what you've proposed though, about being able to wait until the type of MEP they wanted opened up--it seems more fair than having to wait until the list circles around.

I actually think this is unfair, as well. I mean, for example if it's Neriede's turn to host, she wanted to host canon, but there's already one canon MEP, she'd have to give her turn to the next person and then wait for that MEP to finish (which takes a month or more with our history). So she'd have to wait even more, and let's face it, aren't we all dying to host already? D: So more waiting seems unfair, even if skipping the turn and going all the way round again is more unfair.
Really, I don't see why we need the one canon & one crossover rule. I mean, no offense to anyone, just my thoughts on the issue. Or could we pop the number of MEPs to 3 instead of 4? Then we'd have one canon, one crossover, one optional?

I know I've kept agreeing with everyone as the ideas got better and better, but I think I'm really liking Sawnah's idea the best at this point. It seems to offer the most compromise with the least amount of disadvantages.

Now I really do agree with Sanna. 3 is an okay number, right? Besides, I don't want to wait any longer than unnecassary since I'm one of the last ones on the list XDD
